Freshman guard Jessica Gerald has been named Division I Independent women's basketball Newcomer of the Year. Gerald, the six-time NCAA Division I Independent Newcomer of the Week recorded 65 out of a possible 70 points for all-Newcomer team selection. >>

Four Highlanders posted double-figure totals as they went on to a 67-61 road win over Texas-Pan American Wednesday night in women's basketball action. The win for NJIT was its third of the season and first road victory under new head coach Margaret McKeon.   >>

Senior captain Kraig Peters scored a game-high 19 points and passed the 1,000-point career threshold in the consolation game of the UCF Holiday Classic at the University of Central Florida.
